Final Reflection
This quarter I've been working on a project in e9, with the help of my team
we've created a product to present to a group of people using animation, video, graphic design, and web design. We went through 4 rotations that took us this whole quarter. This project was challenging at times because in some classes we didn't have as much time in as the others. Even though that was a big challenge we began to learn how to manage our time better with each rotation. Our teachers helped us time manage and gave us plans to keep us on track and we changed what we did in the next rotation by giving people in our group equal amount of work so we could get it done faster. I feel like our 4th quarter project turned out really good because our team worked good together and communicated well.
We used our time in class to work on specific parts of the project. In animation we worked on ads for our project and a 3D model of our packaging, In video we made a commercial to try to sell our project, in graphic design we made a logo and coupons for our product, then lastly in web design we designed a website to show off our product and give visuals to our audience. There were many times when we finished early or thought we were done but when that happened we would help out another team member or work to improve one of our graphics to make it look even better. If there was a part of the project that looked sloppy then we would talk through it as a team and work as a team to fix the graphic and make it fit our theme. Our team for the most part agreed on the way our website and graphics should look like. We got most of our work done during the school days so we didn't have to do any work outside of school but we had a group chat to communicate if something was wrong or if they needed help or an opinion on a certain part that they were working on. I help with graphic design outside of school at my church and I design necklaces for a company which can help me in my projects to get some real life experiences.
I have dramatically improved my skills as an employee and e9 student. I've learn different technics and ways to design. I think the biggest skill I've learn is how to use certain programs and the different tools and ways to design my products. I didn't know how to use the programs in e9 until this year and I've created amazing designs with the help of my teachers and the programs. I can't wait to use these programs in the future to continue to make designs for clients.
I feel like some improvements I need to make is time management and trusting other peoples opinions. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to graphic design and making logos. I have a hard time when other people disagree with me because I always have a visual in my head what I want it to look like and when other people don't like it then it can be frustrating. I need to learn how to listen to other peoples opinions and trust there skills. Also I need improvement of time management because I take my time on projects to make sure they are perfect but I don't always have that time so I need to learn to work with the time I have and make sure to get things done on time because that is a big factor in working on projects or working for other people.
My favorite part about this quarter was getting to work with my team to make a product. I love graphic design so I enjoyed that rotation the most, I designed the logo and coupon. I would have changed the color theme for our website because I think it didn't really flow with the graphics that we created for the website. I've learned how to work with a team and how to listen to their opinions even if I don't agree with them. I've also learned how to time manage when we don't have a lot of time. I want to set a goal to work more efficiently and get things done the way I like them in a certain time period. I really enjoyed this project and I've learned so much over this quarter and I can't wait to use these new skills in my summer job and grow more and more because my dream is to be a graphic designer. I can't wait for next year so I can continue to grow as a graphic designer.
