                                        Video Production Final Blog ONW NOW News Story This week we worked on a news story for ONW NOW, this was our last video for the semester. This video took us about a week to do but with some set backs it took us a little over a week to finish.    We decided to film Mr. Zuck to ask about his opinion about the laptops. We had to reschedule 2 times so that threw us off track but those days we spent filming broll. Once we got an appointment we began by asking Mr. Zuck the questions we wrote about the laptops. I learned that sometimes you plans won't work out how its suppose to so we need to have plenty of back up plans to assure that we will have our film for the video. This project took about 2 weeks to complete. This project we used Adobe Illustrator and it was a challenge because we haven't used AL very much so we had to learn how to use all the tools in the program.                                                   News Story Blog NEWS STORY Brady Slavens is a senior at Olathe Northwest high school. Brady has been playing baseball for about 10 years. He works hard everyday making himself better and working towards doing baseball as a career, but he doesn’t just work hard for baseball, he also is a very good student. He strives to have A’s and has been awarded many academic rewards. Some people are for it and others are concerned with how it will effect students with the amount of time that they spend time on a screen. This makes it easier for the students and teachers to do school work but they are not sure how the computers will work out because of the amount of time the students will be on it.                             Advanced Feature Story Blog                        This project I worked on an interview and my group and I chose to do the interview on my cousin and a senior baseball player at ONW, Brady Slavens. We started this story by making questions to ask Brady and decide what the story is going to be about. I was assigned to be the story maker and I also scheduled the times to film the interview. The first time we tried to film the video the camera wasn't working so we had to reschedule and we had to do that a few times. Once we finally got the footage, I went out and got broll for the video from family members and watching baseball games.                                                                  Ella Interview This week my group has been working on an interview project. We chose to do an interview on Ella who is a dancer in our class. We started the project by making questions to ask Ella, once we finished that we scouted an area to do the interview at. The nest day we asked Ella the questions and the interview began. After we finished the interview we went out and filmed broll to put in the video. Finally, after we had all our video we began working in Premiere Pro to work on the video.                          Watercolor Transfer Project This week I worked on my watercolor project. This project was fun and interesting. We started by picking one of the photoshop projects that we created and adjusted the size and reflected it so it would print right. After we printed the paper we ripped a piece of watercolor paper in half and began to paint a design on it. After the paint dried, we lay the paper facing downwards on the watercolor and brushed a thick layer of modge podge on the paper until you could see the ghost image of your picture. We made sure the bubbles were out of the paper by using the squeegee. Then we let it dry for a day. The next day we rubbed water on the paper to get rid of the paper so the ink would transfer. My first picture didn't turn out too good but my second picture looked good. I think my water color design turned out well and the second print turned out good. I struggled with rub...

                           Printing Processes Blog                                              In this blog I am going to talk about the different printing processes. These different printing techniques are good skills to know because they are affordable and easy to use. These techniques could be used in any printing company or an artist who prints their own work.  In this process you use carving wood to print onto paper and you do that by toning wood and carving the picture by using carving tools.                                                     ONW procedures blog                                    This week my group worked on a procedures video.  We chose to do the video on phone usage in the classroom. We began the project by story boarding and picking out the different shots for the video, then we assigned roles, then began filming. I was a actress in the video but I ended up having to be director because we were having a hard time on agreeing on some things and weren't getting stuff done.I learned that there is a lot of compromising we had to do. I feel like this was one of the harder projects I've done because we were having a hard time agreeing but we learned good communication skills and how to compromise.                          My Florida Trip Panorama           This summer I went to Carilone Beach Florida. Every year I go to Florida with 11 of my family members, its our family tradition. We went towards the end of summer so it was very hot but it was good because we like to go to the beach when its hot outside. We use to drive to Florida but with 11 people in one car it makes it too difficult. This time we took a plane but it got delayed for 5 hours so we had to walk around a shopping center until our flight. We were disappointed that we wasted a day but the plane ride was still fun.  Once we woke up the next morning, my cousin and I went down to a cute little coffee shop in our gated community and grabbed breakfast and it was really good.                  Pop Art Project     This week I worked on a pop art project in photoshop and it was fun! I began this project by looking through influencers in Behance to get some inspiration for my project. My design style is very clean and I like clean looking images so that's why I decided to go with natural colors in my project. There weren't very many Behance influencers that had as simple style as me, so I went off of my own style instead of using other peoples design styles. I used a new tool which is changing the brush tool to make a splatter effect on the image. I also used some techniques that I already knew like masking tool and photo adjustments. My project is simple and clean but thats the style I like. If I were to change something about this project I would change the background behind the splatter because I feel like I could have made that more complex.                                   PHOTOSHOP CHALLENGE This week I was working on my Photoshop challenge! We were given a picture of a man and multiple pictures of nature. We used Photoshop for this challenge to merge, blend, and mask the pictures together. I chose the mountains because there was a lot of detail to the pictures and I could use each of the elements. I learned how to use mask and how to blend and color the picture to make the man look like he has a mountain on his jacket and face.  This project really pushed me as a Graphic Designer because  I didn't have any tutorials to tell me how to do anything so  I had to remember how to do everything or reteach myself how to do it.                       Photoshop picture project                                                                       This week I worked on a photoshop project. We learned how to use different tools and techniques in photoshop. We had to watch videos that taught us how to use the different tools in photoshop. We were giving the pictures that needed to be edited then I dragged the pictures into photoshop then began editing. I learned how to delete, edit, and patch photos. There were some pictures with unwanted objects in the picture and I learned how to delete them and patch them to look like the were never there.                                  Self-Portrait Artist Statement             This week I worked on my self portrait video, I used making my favorite snack as  a  way to represent myself. I wanted to show others what I like to do and make in my free time. I liked seeing the musical videos because I love the sound of instruments and it inspires me to learn how to to play an instrument. I could tell they spent a lot of time on their skills and it payed off.  I had a hard time with my video I started out with a video of me playing soccer but I realized that 2 minutes was longer than I thought so I changed my mind and did a video of me making a snack.                                                 Final Reflection             This quarter I've been working on a project in e9, with the help of my team we've created a product to present to a group of people using animation, video, graphic design, and web design. We went through 4 rotations that took us this whole quarter. This project was challenging at times because in some classes we didn't have as much time in as the others. Even though that was a big challenge we began to learn how to manage our time better with each rotation. Our teachers helped us time manage and gave us plans to keep us on track and we changed what we did in the next rotation by giving people in our group equal amount of work so we could get it done faster.                                                       CSS and CARP Design               We have been working on a project in Dreamwaver. We are given a messed up web page that is in need of a new design. Once we were given our page we began using codes to design and make this page look better. The HTML is very difficult to do, but with the CSS it is easier to use. The style is different because the codes are different on each one so thats why both of the pages look different.  C ontrast: contrast is mostly color. We used the colors in the dog for the text and for good contrast we used different shades of brown. This helps the text all go together without anything clashing and looking misfit.
